The Workforce Gateway Internship (WGI) is a career exploration and workforce-readiness program that connects high school students with workforce providers. Through hands-on experiences, skill-building, and exposure to career pathways, students learn about real careers, training programs, and next steps after high school.
WGI is for students who:
Are curious about careers and training programs
Are willing to commit to 100% attendance
Want to build professional skills like communication, professionalism, and self-advocacy
Are open to exploring different career pathways
Do not need to have a career figured out yet
WGI is both a commitment and an opportunity. If you show up, engage, and stay curious, you will leave with:
New skills
Career knowledge
Confidence in your next steps
A clearer plan after high school
We’re excited to learn and grow with you.
