What is the Workforce Gateway Internship (WGI)?

The Workforce Gateway Internship (WGI) is a career exploration and workforce-readiness program that connects high school students with workforce providers. Through hands-on experiences, skill-building, and exposure to career pathways, students learn about real careers, training programs, and next steps after high school.

Who is WGI for?

WGI is for students who:

• Are curious about careers and training programs

• Are willing to commit to 100% attendance

• Want to build professional skills like communication, professionalism, and self-advocacy

• Are open to exploring different career pathways

• Do not need to have a career figured out yet
