Zoiper is a free softphone app available for both IOS (iPhone) and Android. Here are the general steps to get it configured under FreePBX:

• You will need the following information:

  • Your extension number

  • The password for your extension (We can get this for you)

  • The internet address of your phone system. (For our clients, this should be pbx.yourdomain.com) 

• Install and open Zoiper

• Select Settings (Gear) 

• Select Accounts

• Press the + to add an account.

• Answer Yes that you have an account

• Choose 'Manual configuration'

• Choose 'SIP account'

• In the SIP Account, enter the settings as follows:

  • Account name = Something like Office Phone (This is for your reference)

  • Domain = the internet name of your phone system immediately followed by :5160 (In certain circumstances, the :5160 is not required so you may need to try both ways)

  • Username = your extension number

  • Password = The password for your extension

  • Caller ID = Can be left blank

• Select Register at the top of the window and if all goes well, after a few seconds, you should see Registration Status: OK

• Select Accounts on the top left to exit the config screen

• Select <Settings to go back to the Settings page

• Finally select Dialpad on the bottom left

As long as you have an internet connection (WiFi or cellular), you should now be able to make calls.

Please note that if you enter incorrect information during setup, that the phone system may temporarily ban you, in which case, you have to wait 30 minutes or contact us to remove the ban.
