This guide was created on a freshly installed Macbook running macOS 12.6.1. Newer versions of macOS may look slightly different.
Select United States for country
Skip accessibility options
Join WiFi network
Choose "Not Now" in Migration Assistant
Choose "Set Up Later" in Apple ID setup screen
Agree to terms and conditions
Enter user details under Create a Computer Account (I suggest Hint be set to you)
Check Enable location services
We uncheck all Analytics options
Choose "Set Up Later" in Screen Time
Uncheck "Enable Ask Siri" in Siri
We typically choose Auto under Choose Your Look
This should bring you to the MacOS desktop
Open Safari and open the web page google.com/chrome to download Chrome.
Open googlechrome.dmg from downloads to install. (You will need to drag the Chrome logo into the Apps Folder in the popup)
Open Google Chrome from the Launch Pad and agree to security warning. Follow option to make Google Chrome your default browser
For ease of access, you should drag the Chrome icon from the launcher area into your frequently used apps on the bottom toolbar and Hide Safari.
Inside Google Chrome, choose Sign In in Chrome and sign in using the users Google Workspace credentials, agree to all and sync
If you would like the companion Google Drive MacOS ap, open drive.google.com inside Google Chrome, click the gear and select "Get Drive for desktop". Download GoogleDrive.dmg and install. Choose Sign in with Browser and select the user's identity. The google drive icon should appear on the toolbar
In Google Chrome, open an incognito window (under 3 dot menu)
In the Google Chrome Incognito window, open the web page office.com/setup
Sign in with the Microsoft Office account email, NOT the user's google account. (Choose No when asked if you would like to Stay signed in)
Enter the purchased Microsoft Office product key (This key should be stored in the info sheet, if not, please add it)
Download and run the Office Installation package
You may close all Google Chrome windows.
Launch Microsoft Outlook (You may be required to sign in using the same credentials used in step 22)
Enter user's Google Workspace account info and Outlook should be able to configure the account automatically. (Be carefull to agree to the permission windows that will pop up)
Drag Outlook Into the Tool tray and remove Mail
Basic setup is now complete. At this point, if there is time, you may choose to update the mac.
