Student Assistance Program (SAP)
Wilson’s Student Assistance Program (SAP) supports students who may be experiencing emotional, behavioral, or substance‑related challenges. The SAP team includes trained school staff and community partners who work together to identify concerns, complete screenings, and connect students with appropriate supports—either within the school or through trusted local agencies.
Who Can Make a Referral:
· Teachers or school staff
· Parents and caregivers
· Students (self‑referral)
· Concerned peers
What SAP Helps With:
· Anxiety, depression, or emotional distress
· Changes in behavior, mood, or academic performance
· Concerns related to substance use · Family stressors impacting school
· Social difficulties or peer conflict
How SAP Works: Once a referral is made, the SAP team reviews concerns, gathers input from teachers, and—with parent permission—connects the student to a free, confidential screening by a trained SAP liaison. The team then helps families access school‑based supports or community services.
