Independent Reading

• Every seventh grade student should be reading EVERY NIGHT!

• Remember to use your reading strategies to help you better understand the text.

• We will be having daily conversations with students about what they are reading & checking in with them.

• Parents, please be aware of what your child is reading. Students may choose whatever books and topics they want to read. If it’s ok with you, it’s ok with us!

• We want you to love what you read! Students are welcome to quit books at any time.

Novel Assessments

• Every trimester, students will complete at least 1 summative assessments based on the books they are currently reading.

• More information about novel assessments will be pushed out at the beginning of the school year and posted on Google Classroom.

In Class Assignments:

• All in class assignments will be posted in Google Classroom. If you do not have enough time to complete any assignment in class, you are expected to complete it for homework.

• Due dates will be posted on HW hotline and Google Classroom.
