2026 Braille Literacy Month
January is National Braille Literacy Month, a time to raise awareness about the importance of braille—the six‑dot code invented by Louis Braille (whose birthday is celebrated internationally on World Braille Day, January 4), which enables people with visual impairments to read and write letters, symbols, punctuation, and even music. At Wilson, four students are learning braille, and we recognize their efforts and promote braille literacy among peers during the month of January.
