2024 Braille Literacy Month

January is National Braille Literacy Month.  The purpose is to bring awareness to the importance of braille, a code used for reading and writing for people with visual impairments.  World Braille Day is internationally celebrated every January 4th, which is Louis Braille’s birthday.  He invented the braille code which is consists of 6 raised dots.  These dots can be used to make every letter, symbol, punctuation mark…even music notes.
