My name is Kim Underwood and I am the Dean of Students at Wilson Southern Middle School after serving as the PE/Health Teacher for 17 years at Southern. I grew up here in Berks County and am a Wilson Graduate. After high school, I attended the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill as a Kinesiology Major, through the School of Education, and was a member of the varsity field hockey team. My husband, Bill Underwood, is on the 6th grade red team at Wilson West and coaches basketball and baseball. We have three adult children who we love spending time with. In addition to teaching, I am the Wilson high school field hockey coach.
I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with middle school students. I believe the middle school years are a great time to develop social skills, a terrific environment to enhance character, and a good time to learn many life lessons. Every child has the opportunity to succeed here at Southern and to grow as a person and I enjoy working with families to help each student reach their potential.
