Library Policies
Loan Period
Students are encouraged to borrow a book for as long as they need. Students are also encouraged to return the book after they read the book or complete a class project, giving other students a chance to read that book. Overdue notices will be distributed at the end of each quarter for books to be returned.
Fines
Late fines and fees will not be charged. However, if an item is excessively overdue, the librarian will assume the item is lost and charge a replacement fee.
Lost or Damaged Materials
If a book is lost, a replacement fee will be charged. If the lost book is found and returned in good condition prior to the end of the school year, the money will be returned. Also, if a library book is damaged so that it cannot be circulated, a replacement or repair fee will be charged. Lost and damaged items can be replaced with the same item in new condition, at the librarian's discretion.
Please do not try to repair a damaged book, as the library has special supplies to do so. Repairing it on your own may damage the book more.
Library Procedures
Visiting the Library
If you are visiting the library to return or check out a book, please fill out an e-hallpass, with permission from your teacher. Students will not be allowed to come to the library without an e-hallpass.
If you are visiting the library to stay the period and work/read/study, your teacher must put your name in the Library Usage spreadsheet. Only students whose names are in the spreadsheet will be granted permission to stay the whole period.
