Some schools arrive on buses with the team while others have families provide the transportation.
Please follow your school’s policy for the event.
Create & Distribute a permission form following your school’s policy.
Assign an extra teacher/volunteer to help with running the celebration.
Volunteers will be assigned to a “duty” by the coordinator.
As the team coach, your responsibility is to chaperone your group to and from competitions while being actively engaged during competitions and award ceremony.
Complete registration form for each team. (This will be sent by the site host sometime before the event)
Review rules/structure for answering questions
Determine team captains for each round. Review their role for the evening. Reminder: Team captains will give answers to the moderators
Hold a practice session or two before the event.
Determine your team's arrival and dismissal procedures for the evening. It is best practice to have parents sign out students if they are leaving from the event.
Communicate with families about the event.
At the ES & MS level, parents are invited to stay and watch the event. The classrooms can get crowded so it is best to not bring small children as the rooms need to be silent during the Q & A portion.
Celebrate!
Awards are given at the end of the conclusion of the event.
