Beginning in January, all third graders will receive a recorder and a music folder. The recorder is provided by the school district. Students should bring the recorder and folder with them to every music class. Between classes, they will be asked to take the recorder home and practice (a few minutes several times a week) what they have learned in class. Once mastery has been attained for a song, your child will receive a "belt" to tie around the end of his/her recorder. With practice, by the end of third grade, some will achieve "black belt" status!
