Description: Students will study changes of the United States from the 1870's to present day. CP United States History II, is a year-long comprehensive study of the development of social, political, economic, demographic, and cultural continuities of the United States. The evolution of America's society will be reviewed. This survey course focuses on the people, ideas, and events that have helped shape modern America. In addition to learning the skills used by historians, students are taught to view our nation's history as a continuous process of change and growth.
Sports and Society is a semester-long view at the influence competition, sports and sporting events have had on both ancient civilization and the modern world. This elective will feature prominent leaders and athletes of various movements as well as major sporting events that have changed the course of human history. The students will view the growth of modern society through a different perspective and discuss further changes on the horizon.
Description: CP Nazi Germany is designed to examine the history of Anti-Semitism, the Holocaust, and Hitler’s rise to power. Throughout the semester students will explore the methods of genocide used, the social and political climate of both Germany and Europe, the state of Germany post WWI, the effects of the Treaty of Versailles, Hitler’s beer hall putsch, his time in prison, and his consolidation of power, as well as certain individuals who perpetuated crimes against the victims of the Holocaust as well as those who fought against Nazi oppression.
