School Counseling Services
Wilson School District school counselors provide students with academic, social/emotional and career support. Counselors meet with students individually, in small groups and teach classroom lessons. Our goal is to provide students with the opportunity to learn skills that will help them with difficult issues in a positive way. Meeting the needs of our students and families is our top priority.
Individual Counseling
I meet with students during weekly check-ins or to support them through life changes or difficult situations (check-ins are solution-focused and short term). At one time or another, students need a little extra support, which I provide by offering a safe place to share feelings and learn skills to move forward in a healthy way. If you feel that your student would benefit from speaking with me, please reach out directly to me or speak with their teacher. I am always here to support all students at GV!
Students are able to request to see me by filling out a Google Form on my Google Classroom page.
We also have individual counseling offered through an outside agency as well as group counseling opportunities. The outpatient counseling agency is Empowerment Behavioral Health.
What is school based outpatient therapy?
Counseling sessions occur during the school day, in our private office within the school building.
Student’s privacy is protected. Participation in counseling is always confidential!

Small Group
The Wilson School District has partnered with Caron Treatment Centers to expand upon the number of programs offered at Green Valley. These programs are voluntary school-based support groups that will be held during the school day for approximately 20-30 minutes.
The groups will be facilitated by a prevention specialist from Caron Treatment Center's Student Assistance Program. The groups are typically six weeks in length. Your child, should you choose to grant permission for participation, would meet with the group once a week during school hours. Confidentiality will be maintained throughout these groups.
Group topics include: Anger Management, Friendship/Social Skills, Kids of Promise (Children Impacted by Family Addiction), Emotional Regulation, and Impulse Control/Self-Control.
Lunch Bunches
Lunch bunch groups are a great way for students to learn from and support one another. During, lunch bunch groups, we talk, play games, and complete activities to build new skills. Students can request to have lunch with me on my Google Classroom.
