Jr. High Invitational
Tournament Information
Facilities – All games will be played at Strathcona High School (10450-72 Ave).
Awards – Championship, Consolation Championship, and Finalist plaques.
Practice Balls – Please bring your own clearly marked balls. If you need balls, Strathcona can provide some.
Coaches Room – Drinks and snacks will be provided for coaches and supervisors. The Coaches Room is located in our Student Services Area. Please note that this room is only for Coaches and Supervisors. No Players please.
Concession – A concession will be available at Strathcona High School throughout the tournament.
Fan seating will be in the upper bleachers in the main gym and chairs on the sides in the small gym. If there is no space, please see a tournament organizer and we will work to provide something for you.
SPECTATOR ADMISSION
Players and coaches are given free admission to all games during the Tournament, but all other attendees (including parents) must pay an admission fee:
Adults - $5.00/day
Students and kids – Free
Tournament Pass - $10.00

Tournament Rules
Playing rules will be according to the current rules utilized by FIBA with the following modifications for junior high play.
Four eight-minute quarters - stopped time. Overtime play - 5 minutes. During the last two minutes of the second half and the final two minutes of the subsequent extra period, the game clock shall be stopped following a successful field goal.
Player to player defence during league play (including playoffs). Zone full court press may be utilized. When ball crosses centre line defensive team reverts to man-to-man play. After a 20 point spread, full court press must be taken off.
Over and back line on small courts will be determined by coaches and referees before start of game.
TF 1000 Legacy game ball: girls size 6; boys size 7.
Please note “Fair Play” Mercy Rule - if midway through 4th quarter, the score has a 30 point difference, clock will run except during time-outs and free throws.
