In the Pursuit Of Excellence

First opening to the public in 1974, Riverbend has been providing athletic experiences to its students for over 40 years. The school's current athletic philosophy is grounded in the Long Term Athlete Development Model and encourages athletes to play multiple sports. Typically, the school has 200 student-athletes participating in at least 1 of 12 different athletic activities in a given school year. Many of these students are multi-sport athletes. The school offers competitive teams which students "try-out' for, and we also offer teams that simply require a good attitude to participate in (X-Country, Wrestling, Curling).

In addition to fielding competitive teams that consistently win city championships, Riverbend also has been successful in helping to develop individual athletes. The school boasts a strong alumni group that have gone on to pursue athletic excellence at the post-secondary level.

Congrats to Coach Hutchinson, Coach Cloarec , and all 2017 Centurion Cross Country Runners for being crowned the tier 1 premier aggregate City Champions for the 4th consecutive year!!

Congrats to Coach Bathgate, Coach Howell, Coach Towne and all 2017 boys and girls soccer players for an excellent season. The boys team captured the tier 1 premier bronze medal and the girls soccer team claimed the tier 1 premier silver medal.

Congrats to Coach Zoeller, Coach Murphy, and all of the 2017 junior girls vball players for being crowned the tier 1 premier city champions! This is the 4th time in the last 6 years that our junior girls vball team has been city champs!

Congrats to Coach Holt and the 2017 junior boys vball team for their tier 1 premier bronze medal!!

Congrats to Coach Bathgate, Coach Bagshaw and all of the 2017-2018 Centurion Wrestlers! Together, they claimed the overall aggregate city championship for the 3rd consecutive year!!

Congrats to Coach Foster, Coach Guitierrez, and all of the 2017-2018 Junior Boys Basketball players for capturing the Tier 1 Premier City Championship!!

For the 10th time in the last 11 years, our Junior Girls Basketball Team won the Tier 1 Premier City Championship! Congrats to Coach Towne, Coach Howell, and all of the 2017-2018 players!

Congrats to coach Chan, Coach Kennedy, and all 2017-2018 handball players for an outstanding season. One of our boys teams finished 2nd in the division 1 provincial tournament and the girls team was the division 2 provincial champs!

Our Running Room Games Teams once again had an impressive showing at the 2017-2018 Running Room Games Competition. In addition to having multiple medal winners in the individual 200m and 800m events, our girls 8X200m relay team captured the gold medal and our boys 8X200m relay team claimed silver. Congrats to Coach Zoeller and all athletes!

~95 athletes represented RBJH @ the 2018 zone track meet. 65 of these athletes qualified for cities, and 31 of these earned at medal at cities. Collectively, our Centurion athletes earned 379.5 points, over 180 points clear of the 2nd place school! This is the 5th consecutive year that the Centurions have been crowned the tier 1 aggregate Track & Field City Champs!!

Congrats to Coach David and all 2018 boys flag football players on another outstanding season. The team claimed the tier 1 city championship and are now the defending back-to-back city champions!

Congrats to Coach Wise , Towne, and all girls flag football players for winning another tier 1 City Championship! This makes it 3 consecutive years! (2016,2017, & 2018)

Congrats to Coach Edmondson, Coach Annicchiarico, and all 2018 slo-pitch players for an outstanding season. They successfully defended their tier 1 City Championship!!
