Centurion Athletics

In the Pursuit Of Excellence

First opening to the public in 1974, Riverbend has been providing athletic experiences to its students for over 40 years. The school's current athletic philosophy is grounded in the Long Term Athlete Development Model and encourages athletes to play multiple sports. Typically, the school has 200 student-athletes participating in at least 1 of 12 different athletic activities in a given school year. Many of these students are multi-sport athletes. The school offers competitive teams which students "try-out' for, and we also offer teams that simply require a good attitude to participate in (X-Country, Wrestling, Curling).

In addition to fielding competitive teams that consistently win city championships, Riverbend also has been successful in helping to develop individual athletes. The school boasts a strong alumni group that have gone on to pursue athletic excellence at the post-secondary level.
