Patch and Insignia

Description

On a white vertical rectangular shape embroidered item arched convexly at top and bottom edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) light blue border, a stylized Raider’s head buff facing front detailed black, clutching a vertical silver gray saber with black details, between his teeth, wearing a light blue hat. Attached above the rectangle, a white scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) light blue border inscribed “ROCKLEDGE” in light blue letters. Attached below the rectangle, a white scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) light blue border inscribed “RAIDERS” in light blue letters. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height by 2 1/2 inches (6.86 cm) width.

Symbolism

The Raider is the mascot of the school, fierce, bold, and determined. The school colors are blue, black, and white.

Background

The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally authorized 21 January 1972. It is hereby cancelled due to a new design on 3 October 2017. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10J-1174).

Description

On a shield shaped silver metal and epoxied device 1 1/8 inch (2.86 cm) in height blazoned as follows: Sable, goutty des larmes (Light Blue), overall a pair of sabers in saltire, points upwards Argent (Silver). Attached below the shield, a Light Blue scroll inscribed “WE BLEED RAIDER BLUE” in Silver.

Symbolism

The Raider is the mascot of the school, fierce, bold, and determined. The crossed sabers are emblematic of the school’s mascot. The background with light blue drops alludes to the school’s motto of “We Bleed Raider Blue.” The school colors are Blue, black, and white.
