The Rockledge High School Athletic Hall of Fame was established in 2018. Its purpose is to recognize the accomplishments of the inductees and develop pride in the rich athletic traditions. These role models exemplify Rockledge High School’s commitment to academic, community, and athletic excellence.
Former Rockledge High School athletes are recognized for their individual achievements, records established, exemplary leadership qualities, and awards won over the period of the varsity sports career. The following criteria are to be considered when nominating an athlete:
Must have graduated 10 years ago by June of the current year
Was a state champion, all-state, all-American, all-conference, school record holder
Participated in multiple varsity sports, unless in a unique situation, excelled so highly in one varsity sport this criteria doesn’t apply
Awarded college scholarship because of their high school sports career
Embodies the spirit of Raider Pride
Former teams that achieved championship status in a state competition during a particular season or seasons, or may have won multiple district or regional championships during a span of several seasons may also be nominated. The following criteria are to be considered when nominating a team:
Must have happened 10 years ago or more by June of the current year
Former coaches and administrators will be recognized for individual achievements, records, and service to the Rockledge High School athletic program. It must be clearly shown that these individuals have demonstrated only the very highest standards while serving Rockledge High School athletics. They must also have demonstrated they taught our youth to compete with honestly, integrity and fairness, and that they demonstrated these qualities themselves while in pursuit of victories and success during their competition. The following criteria are to be considered when nominating a coach or administrator:
Must have retired 3 or more years ago
Provided multiple years of service to their sport or the overall Rockledge High School sports program
Coached a state champion individual or team
Coached a record setting number of wins
Embodies and taught their athletes the spirit of Raider Pride
Outstanding contributors will be recognizes for their generous and unselfish support of Rockledge High School athletics. It must be shown their contributions have improved the program by giving freely of their time, talents, hard work or finances, expecting nothing in return but the appreciation of the athletes, coaches, administrators, the student body, faculty, and community.
Accomplishments 3 years ago or more
Unselfish contributions, either in time, effort, or financial, to a program or the overall Rockledge High School sports program
Embodies the spirit of Raider Pride
It should be noted that posthumous nomination for any of the above categories may be made at any time. The Athletic Hall of Fame committee will strive to select only candidates who meet the highest standards and the criteria set in this nomination package. Unsuccessful nominees will be considered for 5 additional years before they must be resubmitted.
All completed nomination forms will be evaluated by the Rockledge High School Hall of Fame Committee. The committee will use the HOF criteria established above to evaluate the submission.
It should be noted that all nominees will remain in consideration for 5 years after the initial submission date and do not need to be re-nominated every year. After the 5 year period, they can be nominated again.
