Melbourne Area Elementary Track Meet is coming up next!
The kids competed and did a fantastic job representing the school!
This free track meet is targeting kids aged 8 to 12 years old from Melbourne area elementary schools and it is totally free! This will take place at the Eau Gallie High School stadium on Saturday, March 29th. Check in starts at 7:30 at our school tent. Races start at 8:00. Field events start at 8:30 and wrap up at 11:00. You do need to register. Students may choose 2 run events and 1 field event, or 2 field events 1 running event.
If you are not 100% sure you can make it... Go ahead and fill out the forms anyways if you are interested. It isn't the end of the world if you don't show up, but I cannot add you to the school team late.
For more information or to print forms, click the forms packet below. Hard copies are available in the front office too. I need pages 3 and 4 back with names, signatures, and a check or circle around desired events. Pages 1 and 2 will help you navigate the meet itself, so keep that for your own information. This is a good time and a great opportunity to practice sportsmanship.
Running Club Started October 1st and will go to Thursday May 15th! We run, weather permitting, Tuesdays, Wednesday, and Thursdays from 7:30-7:45. Running Zone sponsored the EZ Scan app so our kids can track their progress throughout the year. Each lap completed is worth 1/8 or .13 miles!
If you are an approved volunteer and are interested in volunteering ~7:15-7:55, shoot me an email, Armstrong.Kerry@brevardschools.org It is fun, If I don't see you there, I hope to see your kid!
Opportunities for organized Physical Activity outside of school: PE.K-6.L.3.4. Identify opportunities for physical activity after the school day.
We are very fortunate to have lots of opportunities for recreation outside of school. Plenty of local friends can get a play date going and meet up someplace in the neighborhood with parent permission. Several County, State, and even National parks are in relative close proximity for a fun and interesting family outing. Also, we have many recreational clubs in our area offering sign up opportunities to join basketball, soccer, football, dance, and gymnastics.
To be clear, I am not endorsing any particular club or activity, but I do want for our families to be aware of these opportunities within our community, and I will share what I know as I can. If you see something missing, shoot me an email, armstrong.kerry@brevardschools.org
This is a work in progress... If you know of an opportunity not on here, please let me know. Armstrong.kerry@brevardschools.org Button for outside recreational clubs are at the bottom!
