About Me

Hello Everyone!

My name is Mrs. Haag and I’m thrilled to be at Freedom 7! I've been teaching for 17+ years and this is my 5th year as the music teacher at Freedom 7.

Being a Navy brat, I grew up all over the place. That said, my love for music started at home.  I graduated from the University of Mobile  with a Bachelor of Science in Music Education -Vocal Concentration; Certified in Chorale and Instrumental Music and Family and Consumer Sciences. I immediately began my teaching career at Baldwin County High School as the Choir Director in Bay Minette, AL. Six years later, I opted for a few years out of the classroom being home with my kids, performing in the area, serving as the president of the Mignon Music Club, directing community children’s choirs, and working with various other musical groups. Five years later, life changed a little and I moved to Houma, LA where I worked as the Choir Director at Ellender Memorial High School. Fast-forward ten years, and, because of my husband's job, I moved to beautiful, sunny Florida and  began teaching music at Freedom 7.

I now live in Cocoa Beach with my husband, John, a Federal Officer with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and our daughter, Kennedy, who is in 3rd grade at Freedom 7. I have two daughters attending college (Gracie - University of South Florida and Roxie - Coastal Community College of Cosmetology), and a son, Chris, who has fun working in the film industry in New Orleans. I also have two bonus daughters who live in Louisiana.

I enjoy music, the beach, photography, exercising, games, movies, reading, and spending time with my family. Oh, I also really love Star Trek.
