Born in Huston Texas and at a young age he enjoyed writing plays and filming short movies. He attended Westchester High School But once he left for collage in 1987 to the university of Texas, he met Owen Wilson where the two of them started making short films. These short films would be aired on a local station then one in particular "bottle rocket " would be screened at the Sundance Film Festival and become so popular it would be turned into a full movie.
One thing that makes his films so special to watch is his unique filmography. For one his characters don’t move diagonally but always in straight lines left and right or in and out. He also does this unique thing where he will let characters walk off screen , then have the camera catch back up to them or the camera moves away then the character waiting for them to catch up.
What makes me love these movie so much is the visual and emotional comfort. The perfect symmetrical shots with warm color pallets and deep but gentle story lines.
Timothy Walter Burton was born in a suburban neighborhood in Burbank. Burton often felt like an outsider, having a strong imagination and a love for monster movies, horror films, and old sci-fi shows. He attended Burbank High School, where he enjoyed sketching and painting. After graduation, he attended California Institute of the Arts where he studied animation.
Tim Burton’s filmography is unique because it blends gothic fantasy, dark humor, quirky characters, and a very distinct visual style.
What makes me love his movies is the dark creepy landscapes and pale, misfit protagonists with dark eyes who often end up being the heroes of the stories.
Hayao Miyazaki was born in Tokyo, Japan, during World War II. He grew up in a time of conflict, which had a big impact on his worldview. He loved drawing and was inspired by animation growing up. Miyazaki attended Gakushuin University in Tokyo and studied political science and economics.
Hayao Miyazaki’s filmography is unique and legendary. His hand-drawn animation with incredible attention to detail is famous not just in Japan but worldwide. His original characters and places are so unique and carry very heavy meaning teaching not just the characters but the watcher as well. His animation has inspired countless creators worldwide Pixar, Disney, and many others cite him as a major influence.
What makes these movies so important to me isn't just the beautiful animation but that you can enjoy and learn from them at any age. Growing up watching them I learned how to be a good friend and to be kind to others. Rewatching them now teaches me how war destroys lives and dreams, Humanity and nature must coexist, and Childhood Innocence Has Power.
