Safety Message to Parents- Safety is our top priority with any physical activity. Understand that when participating in any activity or exercise involving moderate to vigorous physical exercise/movement, there is the possibility of physical injury. To reduce the risk of injury, never force or strain during exercise. Contact your child's physician if they experience any unusual symptoms when participating in physical activity such as weakness, unsteadiness, light-headedness or dizziness, chest pain or pressure, nausea, or shortness of breath. Mild soreness after exercise may be experienced after beginning a new exercise. Your student should not participate in suggested outdoor activities if there is inclement weather or excessive heat. If you have questions, concerns, feel your student requires modifications to any activity and/or you need assistance please contact your student's Physical Education Teacher or Adapted Physical Education Teacher.
The weekly activities on this site are suggestions. Your student's Physical Education teacher may send home different or additional recommendations via the classroom teacher using FOCUS. Students should select at least one suggested Physical Education activity for the week. Please keep in mind that the CDC recommends that children and adolescents ages 6 through 17 years engage in 60 minutes (1 hour) or more of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity daily. The state of Florida requires students in grades K-6 receive 150 minutes of Physical Education each week and at least 20 minutes of free play/ recess daily. Please adhere to social distancing and fitness solidarity recommendations as appropriate.

Hair Up Dance!
If you want to play one of our Fitness games but don't have dice at home, don’t worry! Below are some suggestions for alternatives to dice.
Use coins- Find 6 coins. Toss them onto the table or playing surface and count the number of coins that land on “heads”. Use that number to move your game piece.
1-2-3 Show! - Just like Rock-Paper-Scissors but with numbers. With another player, say “one, two, three, show!” and hold out any number of fingers (1-5) from one hand. Add up the number of fingers both players showed and that is the number you move your game piece.
Playing Cards- use a deck of playing cards and find all of the cards numbered 2, 3, 4 and 5. Place them in a pile. Players draw a card to see how many spaces they should move their game piece.
