Hello!

I’m your new math teacher, Mr. Yakubchik, but you can call me Mr. Y.

Mathematics is something I absolutely love, and I hope over time I can share with you what makes math great.

In the coming months we’ll be exploring some challenging topics and I am confident you will be able to succeed. When things get tough, just remember that many things are hard at first: learning to walk, learning to swim, learning to ride a bicycle; once you figure out how to do it, it becomes easy! The same thing happens in math: for example, multiplying big numbers was once impossible, then just hard, but by now you can do it with a pencil, paper, and enough time.

I have high expectations in the classroom and I’m sure you’ll do very well. Treat others with respect: treat them the way they would like to be treated.
