We are a student group for those who are passionate about working with children, families and serving their communities.
Our work is focused on real-world skills learned through Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) education and prepares members for careers through its six Career Pathways: Arts & Design, Hospitality and Tourism, Financial Services, Education & Training, Human Services, and Public Service.
This interactive club focuses on enhancing our knowledge and serving our community. With over 30 different STAR events to choose from, students in this club participate in a range of competitions. Some of our previous projects include:
Books for Little Paws (Chapter Service Project): upcycled old newpaper stands into Free Little Libraries around the Shakopee Community
Saber Pay Toy Box (Focus on Children): hosted a used toy drive & installed a toy lending library at the Family Resource Center
Students Supporting Students (Focus on Children): created mental health support bags for 9th grade students & academy counselors & support staff
Fresh Beginnings (National Programs in Action): hosted a hygiene drive & installed a mini Saber Nation Station at the Family Resource Center
Teach or Train: created lesson plans & taught in a classroom setting
