ALAN R. SHADDINGER, ESQUIRE

Since admission to the Pennsylvania Bar in 1978, Alan has acquired nearly 40 years of experience in various areas of law. He established Shaddinger Law Office in December, 2012.

▪ REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE AND SERVICES

For the past 30 years, the focus his law practice has been on representing local municipalities and authorities located principally in Crawford County. This experience covers a broad spectrum of legal services including such things as evaluating, drafting and enforcing local government regulations; providing local officials with advice regarding, handling the resolution of, and litigating matters involving land use, land developments, zoning, environmental and storm water issues, building code and property maintenance issues, personnel and financial matters, and collection of accounts. His experience has included handling municipal real estate and eminent domain matters, and defending federal civil rights actions. Additionally, he has represented developers and landowners in matters involving similar issues. He has served as solicitor for the Crawford County Association of Township Supervisors for more than 25 years. He currently represents more than twenty townships, boroughs and related municipal organizations like zoning hearing boards; and represents four municipal authorities.

▪ OTHER LIFE EXPERIENCE

Served in the US Air Force in Okinawa and Thailand during the early 1970's. Worked on a dairy farm in Bucks County for more than 6 years while attending high school and college. Worked as a law clerk with a Philadelphia law firm while attending law school. Married more than 45 years with two wonderful children, and has two fantastic grand kids.
