It is indeed a pleasure to introduce myself to the institution which promotes and fosters quality education and Learning expériences.

I, Dr. Zakira Shaikh, am currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Commerce in Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce, Pune. I have gained thirteen years of teaching experience in the field of Business, Marketing and Management from the same Institute. I have taught various courses under the Department of Commerce at Undergraduate, Post Graduate and B. Com Honours Levels.

I have pursued my PH.D from Savitribai Phule Pune University in the subject of Marketing. The title of my thesis was,“To Analyse Consumer Buying Behavior Towards Private Labels Owned By Hypermarkets”. I have also completed by PGPM & HR programme from Symbiosis Institute of Management Science, Pune. Currently I am working on a project under, Centre for Study of Society(CSS), an initiative of Collège with Potential for Excellence (CPE), as a co-investigator. The title of the project Is, ‘Academic Disengagement Amongst Undergraduate Students of Commerce in Select Colleges in Pune City : An Analysis’

Over the years I have written and presented various research papers under the topic of Marketing in various national and international seminars.

I have also been invited as a guest speaker in various renowned educational institutions in and around Pune City.   Over the years, teaching as à profession has helped me evolve not just as an academician but also à unique human being. As a teacher my focus is always on imparting and promoting quality education and well-being among students. I strongly believe that teachers are torch bearers of the country as they not only teach students but also help them think, and think in a critical way. I have always been enthusiastic and passionate about teaching and sharing my life experiences and knowledge with the students.
