Getting To Know The Teachers

First Grade Teacher:

Miss Maddie McArthur

I am entering into my fourth year teaching, but my first year teaching first grade, and my first year at SGM! I have previously taught second grade for three years. I am looking forward to read aloud, class meetings, math lessons with Mrs. Missel and science experiments this year in first grade!

Miss McArthur's Mission For The School Year:

My mission for the year is to teach my students to give their best effort to achieve their goals, recognize their uniqueness, and learn to become an independent learner while being a part of a team. As an educator, I believe that if each student leaves my classroom happy, healthy, and with a smile on his or her face, then I have done my job. I hope to create a positive classroom environment, in which each child feels safe to share ideas, try new things, and explore using the resources around them. I want to show my students to show Christ's love to others by using kind words, actions, deeds to all they meet and interact with by setting that example for them myself. I am so honored to be a part of the SGM community and cannot wait to get to know everyone!
