Week of October 23rd

• Sibling Applications 27-28 School Year:  We are thrilled to extend a warm invitation to families with siblings of current students to apply for admissions at SGGS for the 27-28 school year. Applications are now open! Siblings of current students will receive an extremely discounted application fee if you contact Heather Van Scoten, Admissions Director, at hvanscoten@sggsvb.org before submitting your application. To take advantage of this priority status, please ensure that we receive your application by December 1st.  Please note: current student re-enrollment will NOT begin until January 1st.  

• New for the 2027-2028 School Year!! Early Learners/Junior Kindergarten  Students who turn 3.5 years old by September 30 of the upcoming school year and are fully potty trained are eligible to apply for the Early Learners/Junior Kindergarten program. These students will remain in this program until they are eligible for the Kindergarten program. Kindergarten students must turn 5 by September 30 of the upcoming school year.

• Financial Aid: FACTS Financial Aid applications for the 2027-2028 School Year will open on November 10th and early applications end February 15th!

• NO SCHOOL: October 26th

• Tuesday, October 27th- Monday Schedule (Students should wear their Monday Uniform of the Day.)

• Important Cafeteria Update for Next Friday, October 30th

  • Saint Carlos Acutis Presentation and First Class Relic: On Friday, October 30, SGGS will have a presentation about Saint Carlo Acutis, including the opportunity to verniate a first-class relic. Students are encouraged to bring a rosary or another religious item to touch to the relic, creating a third-class relic to keep as a special reminder of Saint Carlo’s faith and example. 

  • The cafeteria will be closed and lunch schedules will be adjusted to allow all students time to experience this opportunity. All purchased lunches will be delivered directly to the classrooms; however, they MUST be ordered by Wednesday, October 28th. If your student would like to order lunch for next Friday, please click the link below to submit an order. LOOKING AHEAD

• The Catholic Daughters Annual Christmas Craft Bazaar: Court #1881 will host their Annual Christmas Craft Bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 14th in SGGS gym from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Tables are available to rent for $30.00 early bird and $35.00 after Oct. 31st. A large variety of crafts and food for purchase, baked goods, free door prizes, and fun! If interested in a table, please call Sue at St. Gregory’s Church at 757-497-8330. 

• Thanksgiving Break: Friday, November 20th: Noon Dismissal (Note: There is No Beyond the Bell on this day) and November 23rd – 27th: No School — Thanksgiving Break
