Dr. Suhas S. Gajre

Dr. Suhas S. Gajre (सुहास गाजरे) is working as Principal, Government College of Engineering, Jalgaon -- an Autonomous Institute of Government of Maharashtra since 9-Nov-2023. 

Before joining as Principal, he was working as Dean (Innovation, Incubation, and Linkages) in which he was in charge of activities of innovation, startup, incubation, and entrepreneurship in the institute. Earlier to this he worked as Dean (Incubation and Procurement) during which he was in charge of the above activities, and also additionally in charge of all procurement related activities from October 2020 till Jul 2023. He was also coordinator of SGGSIET-AICTE IDEA lab - one of the 90+ such labs in India - in which students do prototyping of their ideas. From August 2018 till July 2020, he was working as Dean (Industry Liasion) and in-charge of Training & Placement activities. During this period, the institute has received 4th Rank in ARIIA 2020 in Govt and Govt-aided category. He was working as Professor in Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering at SGGSIET, Nanded and joined as Principal, GCOEJ on lien. Dr. Suhas is a Fellow of IETE, Fellow of IE(I) and life member of ISTE. 

Dr. Suhas Gajre completed his Ph.D. from IIT Delhi in Biomedical Engineering in 2007. Prior to that, he completed B.E. (Electronics) and M.E. (Electronics) degrees from Shri Guru Gobind Singhji Institute of Engineering and Technology (SGGSIET), Nanded, Maharashtra in 1990 and 1995 respectively. He has published 50+ peer reviewed research papers. Under his guidance 6 students have completed Ph.D. degree. He is currently guiding 8 research scholars towards Ph.D. He has also guided many PG dissertations. His research interests include Biomedical Signal and Image Processing, Deep Learning, VLSI design, and enabling startup ecosystem through innovation and incubation.
