My name is Crystal Koenig. For me, teaching gifted is my calling. Teaching in my hometown is a blessing. From my earliest childhood memories, I remember playing “school” on the landing of our basement steps with my giant chalkboard leaning against the wall and my counsins and/or stuffed animals sitting above "learning." I have an insatiable desire to learn, share my learning, and this love of learning is ingrained in all I do.
I consider my 21 year career such a privilege. I feel blessed and honored to be a part of your child’s education and want to share my excitement for life and learning. I want you to know I am you and your child’s advocate and partner in this adventure.
Together, I pray we can find your child’s niche in this life. I pray we can guide your child toward success, fulfillment, and a continual yearning for life-long learning.
I believe in real-world experiences for our students. Everything we do in our classroom is to promote their creativity, problem-solving, social and emotional learning, critical thinking, research skills, and self-directed/autonomous learning. I believe in helping students learn how to handle failure, manage emotions, and build resilience. I want you to know what we are working on, please consider following our classroom Twitter (@SGGIFTEDGT) page and/or our Facebook page (SG Gifted GT).
As a director for the Gifted Association of Missouri, I promise to be an advocate at the state level as well. We are truly blessed here at SGSD R-II where every single student counts every single day. We will continue to fight for mandates for gifted education for all of our students in all districts around the state.
