Year 7 at St George College

Middle schooling (Years 5 – 8) is a special time in the lives of young people. The key initiative that changes for students as they move from through the Middle School is that they are become part of an engaging wellbeing program to support them in their teaching and learning journey.

Students transition from being highly dependent on their classroom teacher to becoming more independent and learning to work with a variety of specialist teachers in the latter part of their middle schooling years.

The Head of House system gives every child the opportunity to be involved in the “St George Cup” activities and to participate in an explicit wellbeing program during the 4A lesson. Students get the opportunity to work with specialist teachers and develop their leadership capabilities by working with older students in the Middle School

All students in Year 7 will study the following compulsory subjects:

• Modern Greek or Serbian

• The Arts

• Religion

• Health and Physical Education

• Digital Technologies

• Entrepreneurship and Project Based Learning
