What is the mission of Gators Swim & Dive Club?
Our mission is to promote water safety, skill development, fun and a lifelong love for swimming & diving through structured training and positive competition.
Who can join?
We are open to swimmers and divers of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced athletes, typically ages 5 and up.
When and where are practices?
Practices are held Monday - Friday, in the Titan Natatorium at Southgate Anderson High School. Times & days vary by age group and skill level. Schedules are available on this site.
Do I need to know how to swim?
No prior experience is required for beginner groups. We have certified coaches & instructors to teach basic swimming and diving skills.
What if my child is not ready for the competitive swim club?
We offer lessons to those that are interested in learning to swim, but not quite ready to compete.
How do I register?
Registration is available by clicking on one of the pages for our sessions or through GoFan. Click here to access the registration page.
What are the membership fees?
Fees vary based on the training group and season. Please refer to the registration sections (Fall, Winter, Summer & Learn to Swim) or contact us for details.
Are there trial sessions available?
Yes! We offer a free trial session for new members to experience our program. You may also use our placement test dates to learn more about the programs prior to registration.
How will I know what group my child(ren) should register for?
There are two placement test dates prior to the beginning of each season. Please refer to the HOME page for dates & times. New swimmers are strongly advised to attend a placement test.
How are athletes placed in training groups?
After an evaluation by our coaching staff, athletes are placed based on skill level and experience.
Does the club participate in competitions?
Yes, we participate in local meets. We are not currently USA certified but haven't ruled it out for the future. Participation is encouraged but not mandatory. To participate in a championship meet, a swimmer must compete in a minimum of two dual meets.
Who does the compete against and where?
We compete against local teams. Meets are held at our pool as well as at other local pools. These meets are set up at the beginning of the season during a coach's meeting.
What equipment does my swimmer need?
Swimmers will need a swimsuit and goggles and are advised to use a swim cap. Divers typically only need a swimsuit and towel. Coach will provide a link to purchase team swimsuits and caps.
Are the coaches certified?
All of our coaches are certified in CPR, First Aid and Lifeguard training.
What safety measures are in place?
We follow all facility guidelines. Lifeguards are on duty during all sessions and maintain a strict adherence to Health & Safety protocols. Additionally, our emergency pool phone is directly linked to the 911 emergency system.
What is the weather policy?
In the case of inclement weather, team members will be notified via our team app regarding cancellations or changes in the schedule. In the case of thunder and lightening during practice, swimmers are required to leave the pool and pool are for a 30 minutes. Each time thunder or lightening occurs, the 30 minutes start over.
