Welcome to 4th Grade
The first two days of school were filled with routines and organization. We will continue learning and practicing school wide and classroom routines for the next two week's as well.
We will continue to go slowly, which makes it difficult to estimate the homework for the week, but I have listed what we should get accomplished on the Homework and Words to Know page.

Students did a wonderful job with this aspect of thier summer work. It is going to take me a little time to look through everything else.
The September leaderboard will begin September 1. Will we have new leaders.
Only time will tell.
The IXL Mobile App can be a helpful resource. Available at the Apple App Store and Google Play.
We will read and respond to stories based on the needs of the class. Some stories take 5 days some take 2 weeks.
We will begin slowly with the first story over 2 weeks.

We will begin the year slow with a biopoem, review of paragraphs and transition to 5 paragraph essays.
Our first chapter reviews place value, reading and writing numbers in word and expanded form to Millions.
A lot of review during first trimester before getting into the heavy concepts so we ensure students have a solid number sense.
We will begin by connecting the old testement with the new testement with
Jesus as our final king.
Our "book" is a newspaper publication and online resource for Massachusett specific standards by Social Studies Weekly. Students will receive a user id, password and link in our Google Classroom.
Students will be able to learn how to highlight important content and vocabulary words.
Mystery Science
Students will use the skills they explore and experiment with to solve and answer test questions.
We will begin with the Birth of Rocks Unit
