Lawton K-8 Wellness Center

We are all walking through new territory that no one was prepared for. Throughout this pandemic and digital learning the Lawton School Counselor and School Social Worker want you to know that we are here for you and that all of your feelings are valid. You may be experiencing a range of emotions. We want you to understand that all these feelings are normal. During this time we must take care of ourselves and do the best we can. We will get through this together.

The Virtual Wellness Center is a place for students and families to find tools to manage any overwhelming thoughts or big feelings.

BREATHING EXERCISES

Taking slow, deep breaths can help you feel calmer and more relaxed. You can try just one of these exercises or as many as you like. You might need to repeat an exercise a few times until you feel it working.

Try to take deep breaths where you can feel your chest rising. When you breath out it might feel like you're slowly letting the air out of a balloon. You can close your eyes, look at something in the distance or not focus on anything at all.
