Optional Activities
and Self-Care

Please note that the below list contains optional, voluntary activities for parents/guardians and students to explore during our city-wide shelter-in-place. SFUSD is not assigning any work to be graded. These are not assignments and will not be graded. I do not take credit for creating all of these activities. I relied on my network for ideas to share with you. I'm grateful to an incredible online community for their support!

For many students, the disruption of COVID-19 is taking a toll on daily life. You may be feeling anxious and stressed because of the restrictions per the shelter-in-place (shutdown), increased responsibilities at home, too much free time leading to boredom, the unknown about the rest of the school year, and concerns about your's and your family's health. Your feelings are valid. It's ok to feel scared, anxious, confused, and stressed, but it is important to practice self-care too.

I will continue to update the below list with optional, voluntary activities to help you during this unsettling time. Contact me at halle@sfusd.edu with questions or for support.

The companionship of a pet can ease loneliness, offer comfort and many more mental health benefits. Bay Area animal shelters are in need of people to foster and adopt animals. Consider helping a furry friend in need once the shelter-in-place expires.
