SFUSD Credit Recovery Program
SFUSD Credit Recovery Program
The SFUSD Office of Extended Learning offers credit recovery options for students who have failed a class during the school year. In some cases, students who received a grade of D may also be eligible for remediation, depending on space availability. Please note that not all courses are offered through credit recovery - AP and Honors courses, for example, are not available.
Each semester, the Counseling Department reviews student transcripts and meets with those who need to recover credits in order to meet graduation requirements. Priority enrollment is given to 12th grade students, followed by 11th, 10th, and 9th graders. Once credit recovery options are released by the Office of Extended Learning, counselors will work with students to enroll them in the appropriate courses.
Students may enroll in up to two credit recovery classes. Classes are available in three formats: in-person, distance learning (live online), and asynchronous (self-paced online).
Credit Recovery Schedule
Fall & Spring - These sessions last approximately 13 weeks (September to December and February to May). Classes meet twice a week, either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday, from 5:15pm to 6:45pm. Saturday sessions are also available from 9:00am to 12:00pm.
Winter - A limited selection of asynchronous courses is offered for about 5-6 weeks (mid-December to mid-January). Seniors receive enrollment priority during this session.
Summer - Summer classes run for about five weeks (mid-June to mid-July), Monday through Friday. Morning classes are held from 9:00am to 11:00am, and midday classes from 11:30am to 1:30pm.
