Drama

Mr. John Strain

THEATER AND DRAMA at George Washington High School is an exciting performing arts experience.

Acting Opportunies include Two Mainstage Plays a Year. In the Fall, a modern comedy or drama is presented; In the Spring, either a Musical or a Shakespeare play. Recent productions have included: FAME, Dead Man Walking, Urinetown, Taming of the Shrew, To Kill A Mockingbird, Romeo and Juliet, The Laramie Project, and Little Shop of Horrors. These productions are open to all GWHS School students by audition in the Fall and the Spring. In addition to these full length plays, The Senior Directed One Acts are another Acting opportunity for GHWS students.

Begin Acting your Freshman Year at GWHS. Don’t wait. If you are involved in Drama all four years you are eligible to DIRECT in the Senior Play or One Acts evening during your Senior Year. Also, any Drama student who joined Drama in their Soph, Jr or Sr year ALL WISH THEY HAD BEGUN SOONER!! DON’T LET THAT BE YOU, TOO!!
