Happy Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month (APAHM)! The month of May was chosen to commemorate the immigration of the first Japanese to the United States on May 7, 1843, and to mark the anniversary of the completion of the transcontinental railroad on May 10, 1869 who the majority of the workers were Chinese immigrants.

April is widely known as "Autism Awareness Month" as a way to empower individuals with autism and their families. However, the autism community is calling to shift the language to match the growing need for acceptance within and outside the community to now call the month "Autism Acceptance Month". This brings awareness and celebrates differences.
