Track practice will begin on March 10th. We will meet Monday - Friday from 3:30 - 5:30 unless otherwise specified.
While spikes are not required to be a part of the track and field team they are strongly recommended. An athlete without spikes is at an immediate disadvantage. There are many affordable pairs of spikes that will last for 1 - 3 seasons depending on the number of races.
Track meets are unique in that it's hard to predict what time they will be finished. The best way to determine when to get to the school for pick up is by waiting for a text or call from your child. We typically alert them to text/call their rides when we're ~ 15 minutes from Saint Francis.
Early season practices are often met with cold/windy weather. There will be days when we have to go outside to use the track in the cold/windy weather. We always try to give athletes a heads up, but the best idea is to always come prepared to go outside and bring plenty of layers every day. This includes hats, gloves, jackets, sweatshirts, etc. (if you child runs distance they will be outside more often than the sprinters/throwers).
