My name is Marley Baker and I am the school counselor at Southern Fulton Elementary School. This page is intended to connect families within the district. This will include student monthly guidance lessons, positive behavior initiatives, and career opportunities/information.
What is a School Counselor?
School Counselors:
Promote positive attitudes among students towards self, family, peers and community.
Assist students in learning how school performance relates to future opportunities.
Create and deliver monthly classroom guidance lessons that teach skills such as decision making, goal setting, resolving conflict and respecting others.
Work with students, parents and school staff to identify learning needs and to design interventions to enhance student success.
Provide support during a personal crisis.
Coordinate referrals to outside agencies.
Develop student career awareness.
