Dear Stakeholders,
Santa Fe Public Schools recognizes that whatever field our students choose to pursue as adults, their ability to succeed will increasingly depend on problem solving and computational thinking skills. Computer Science, and the application of these concepts and skills, prepare our students for future careers in STEM-related fields. Many of these career fields are based on tackling real-world problems such as pandemics, developing applications, and programming drones to fly reconnaissance missions, to name a few.
Santa Fe Public Schools is joining in on The Hour of Code during Computer Science Education Week which will take place December 7-13, 2020. Our participation in the Hour of Code is reaffirming that Santa Fe Public Schools is ready and committed to teach these foundational 21st-century skills. To continue bringing programming activities to our students, we want to make the Hour of Code event engaging and relatable to the evolving learning environment. This is a chance to continue the progress towards innovative education at Santa Fe Public Schools.
Get Creative, Get Connected, Get Prepared!
Estimados Padres,

"Winners of the 2020 Congressional App Challenge for New Mexico's 3rd Congressional District."
Quote from Barbara Teterycz
"This is the 2nd time my students win the Congressional App Challenge. In 2018, one of my students won 3rd place. It matters to me a lot, because I have been their direct mentor, who introduced them to the topic and helped develop those apps. However, nothing would ever be achieved without these fantastic young students, who did not mind spending their time after school on working with me."
