Ms. Riggins

Clarissa M. Riggins is the Director of Bands at Milagro Middle School. She is also the Assistant Director of Bands at Santa Fe High School. She received her Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU). During her time at ENMU, Mrs. Riggins performed in the Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, Brass Choir, Jazz Band, and the Steel Drum Band. She also performed in the Kappa Kappa Psi/Tau Beta Sigma National Intercollegiate Band. She was marching section leader for the trumpet section for several years.

Upon graduation, Mrs. Riggins began her teaching career in Santa Fe Public Schools. She was the elementary band director for two years at four different schools: Chaparral Elementary, Amy Biehl Community School, Pinon Elementary, and Carlos Gilbert Elementary. In her third year, El Camino Real Academy opened its doors and she started the band program. Soon after, she also became assistant band director at Capital High School. Now, Mrs. Riggins hopes to build a strong band community between Milagro Middle School, Santa Fe High School and all the surrounding feeder schools.

Clarissa M. Riggins es la Directora de Bandas en la Escuela Milagro Middle School. También es directora asistente de bandas en Santa Fe High School. Recibió su licenciatura en Educación Musical de la Universidad de Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU). Durante su tiempo en ENMU, la Sra. Riggins participo en Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, Brass Choir, Jazz Band y Steel Drum Band. También fue parte de la Banda Intercolegial Nacional de Kappa Kappa Psi/Tau Beta Sigma. Fue líder de la sección de trompetas durante varios años.

Al graduarse, la Sra. Riggins comenzó a enseñar en las escuelas de Santa Fe. Fue directora de banda por dos años en cuatro escuelas: Chaparral, Amy Biehl, Pinon y Carlos Gilbert. En su tercer año, El Camino Real Academy abrió sus puertas y ella comenzó la programa de banda. Poco después, también era directora asistente de banda en Capital High School. Ahora, la Sra. Riggins espera construir una comunidad de banda entre Milagro Middle School, Santa Fe High School y todas las escuelas de la comunidad.
