All students in Kindergarten-6th grade receive Bullying Prevention lessons through Second Step Social Emotional Learning Curriculum.
During the Bullying Prevention Lessons students in Kindergarten-6th grade learn specific skills to help stop bullying. Students learn how to:
Recognizing bullying by the definition of bullying: Bullying is mean, causes harm physically and/or emotionally, is often repeated, and there is an imbalance of power
Reporting bullying to a safe, trusting, caring adult
Refusing bullying by being an upstander and standing up for someone being bullied, refusing to join in the bullying, walking away and reporting it
As part of the Bullying Prevention curriculum, students in upper elementary also receive instruction on cyberbullying awareness.
If you need to report bullying, you may do so using the Bullying Reporting Form on the Santa Fe Public Schools District website.
