Remote and Flexible Learning
Portal

Our Remote and Flexible Learning Portal is designed to support families during lockdowns

The implementation of remote and flexible learning provides many challenges for students, families and teachers. Children not only in Australia, but all around the world, all face the same challenges when it comes to their schooling during the pandemic. The school developed and implemented an online remote and flexible learning portal to support families during this time with their child's remote learning program. The online portal provides a central place where families can locate everything that they need for remote learning.

Learning programs are in place to ensure a learning program consistent with the guidelines set by the Education Department of Victoria and the CECV to be delivered during remote and flexible learning to enable continued student learning growth.

A daily routine will consist of a morning classroom google meet, literacy, mathematics and small focus group based sessions in the areas of literacy and mathematics and one other inquiry activity. These tasks will include basic reading, writing and mathematics learning activities.

Remote and Flexible Learning Programs will be shared for completion. Learning programs will be uploaded to the remote and flexible learning portal and will also be available on the SkoolBag App. We ask students to do their best to work through the learning program set for the week.

Engagement of the remote and flexible learning program:

  • a structured remote learning day that resembles a normal school day with mandated break times for students.

  • face-to-face teaching and teacher support time outlined in the weekly remote learning program to support student learning.

  • opportunities for children to see and interact with their classmates.

  • consistency with times of morning meetings, whole class literacy and maths lessons and classroom teacher focus groups.

  • afternoon teacher support available via open meetings in each year level daily.

  • optional afternoon year level meetings each week to interact with other children and share experiences and highlights.

Please take care, stay safe and please ensure you are following the Department of Health recommendations if you have attended any of the exposure sites. The latest information on the restrictions issued by the Victorian Government is available from the coronavirus.vic.gov.au website.
