"Definitely spending time with my fellow classmates and brothers at Kairos."
"Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, our baseball season ended abruptly. However, there were some games played. One win, in particular against Desert Oasis at GSC, brought back thoughts of a memorable game that occurred the year before during our annual baseball trip to Las Vegas. To boost morale, we had a player meeting in a teammate’s room. We all assembled to discuss the game that we were going to play the next day against the top team in Nevada, Desert Oasis High School. We gathered in part to celebrate the two games that we won that day, but began to discuss how much we wanted to beat Desert Oasis. One player had a good luck superstition whereby he would eat hot, spicy chips the night before he pitched. Since we all wanted to play at our best the next day, we all joined in on his ritual and ate the hot chips. The result was a 9-2 victory the next day."
"I'll never forget my mornings spent in the library. Every day throughout my time at St. Francis, the library served as my refuge from the stresses of the school for thirty minutes before school began. Having that as a space to relax, get homework done, read, and enjoy myself before classes was an invaluable asset to countless students (especially myself). As a last note, I want to thank all four of the librarians that have been at the school since 2016, and give a special note of appreciation to our current one, Ms. Wicke for putting so much effort into supporting students and the library. Your kindness will not be forgotten!"
"My favorite memories at St. Francis were the times I spent with my soccer teammates throughout my four years during the many soccer tournaments/games, especially the Oceanside trips, and all the times spent outside of the pitch with my teammates. An especially rewarding memory was winning the Championship game in the 2019 Ralph Brandt Burroughs Tournament by beating the defending champions El Camino Real in overtime. This game demonstrated our team character as we came back from a deficit to tie the game in the last minutes of the game and eventually win in overtime."
"Favorite memories of St Francis are: My 10th grade year when the football team made it to the CIF championship Game that was televised . Although the outcome was not what we expected it was a monumental moment because it had been 68 yrs since the team last made it to the championship game. The other memory was the honor of being a Golden Knight, a true reflection of my growth and character throughout the years here at St. Francis."
"One of my favorite memories while at St. Francis was running onto Friedman Field with my brothers at the start of my senior football season. We worked together for 4 years to get to varsity with early morning lifting and afternoon workouts. We did this to prepare for our final season so hearing the shouts of joy from parents and fans while being next to my brothers was exhilarating and a highlight for me."
"My best memories come from the football field. Being able to grow with my fellow teammates over the four years made my experience at Saint Francis so memorable. After three long years of being upset by Cathedral we were finally able to pull off a victory and become Angeles League Champions. Celebrating the 33 to 0 victory was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. This will be unforgettable."
"After visiting one of the churches in Assisi, we all piled into vans to head back to Assisi. A group of my friends and I piled into one van and for whatever reason began telling stories of funny moments that happened to us and our classmates. It lasted all of ten minutes (because that is how long the van ride was) but by the end we all had tears rolling down our cheeks and I had the hiccups."
"Each and every time I was able to hang out with my friends that are just as crazy as I am."
"My favorite memory at St. Francis was during the Assisi pilgrimage. It is a tie between an an early morning hike with my Choir teacher to the Rocco Maggiore and the time I spent a late afternoon exploring the most charming hidden nooks and crannies of the town. I look back at the photos I took during those two times in Assisi often."
"The retreats, specifically: Pulling into a near empty parking lot after a bad day, and finding one of my SF brothers in the spot next to me. We talked for a long time and reminisced about past memories, really showed me what true brotherhood is. The year after that we led, to me, the most meaningful retreat I’ve ever been on together."
"It is tough to recount just one favorite memory from my time at Saint Francis. There are so many unforgettable moments from just seeing my brothers everyday. Whether it was just messing around in class, moshing after wins in the locker room, or the random funny moments we won’t soon forget. It’s been a great 4 years."
"My favorite memory was working on the documentary production for the mass media class. The editing, filming, and planning of it were some of the most enjoyable experiences on and off campus. I was very proud of the end product and the valuable knowledge gained surrounding the issue of homelessness in Los Angeles."

The van ride took about an hour and thirty minutes, it was always fun to laugh with Coach Ostrom and the team before playing a tournament. Being the captain for the golf team at Saint Francis was an experience I’ll never forget. Having the best Coach also made the experience that much more fun and important to me.
