Welcome to Our Newest School Family Members!
What a wonderful Monday morning we had celebrating our Mihi Whakatau for our newest students and their families!
The weather could not have been more perfect! As we gathered together, the sun shone brightly across our beautiful grounds, giving us a stunning view looking out over the school and up towards the church. Although it was still a little chilly for my liking, it served as a lovely reminder of the warm, connected community we are so blessed to be a part of.
Our current students did an outstanding job hosting the event. Representatives from our senior students spoke with confidence and the school sang with so much pride, filling the court area with uplifting waiata that truly set the tone for the day. It was a joyful noise that brought smiles to everyone in attendance—from our littlest learners to our visiting parents.
We were also touched by the kind words shared by some of our visiting parents. They spoke so warmly about how excited their child is to come to school each day and how much they are already loving their learning journey here. Hearing that enthusiasm reminds us all of why our school is such a special place to grow.
Throughout the morning, the spirit of manaakitanga and true acts of kindness were everywhere you looked. Whether it was a friendly greeting out at the courtyard, an older student offering a hand to set up, or a comforting smile from our teachers and tamariki; our community showed what caring for one another looks like in action. And I hope that our new families certainly felt that aroha.
A highlight of the event was encouraging our new boys and girls to stand and introduce themselves. While it can take a lot of courage to speak in front of a big crowd, every single child did brilliantly! We made sure to acknowledge each of them with a huge round of applause, welcoming them officially into our school family with glowing smiles and open arms.
To all our new students and families: we are so thrilled you are here, and we look forward to walking alongside you in the years ahead.
A Prayer for Our New Families
Dear Lord,
We thank You for the blessing of our new students and their families.
Bless them with confidence, joy, and lasting friendships as they begin this new chapter.
Guide their feet, warm their hearts, and grant them peace in our school community.
Amen.
