This term, our Year 7&8 students have been considering whether they would like to put themselves forward to be a House Leader at our school this year. Many students aspire to be a House Leader throughout their younger years and they are very excited to have this opportunity. Last Thursday, the applicants presented a short speech to their house groups gathered together from across all ages in the school. The aspiring leaders shared what they would like to do as a leader, and why they would make a good leader. The children then had an opportunity to select who they would like to lead them.
Learning Conferences - Book in for 8th / 9th of April
On Friday you will have received an email from us to ask you to book in for a Term One Learning Conference. This opportunity is provided as one way for you and your child to meet your child's teacher and talk about your child's learning. The meetings are a relaxed two-way conversation about your child's relationship with learning, their involvement in school life, their strengths and any areas where support is needed. 82 students' conferences have been booked already. There is still time to book your family's meetings. If you can't find a time that suits, please email your child's teacher and they will be able to booking you in at a different time. Please make a booking through Hero.
Houses
When each student enters St Francis de Sales School they are placed in a House group. Houses provide the opportunity for senior students to take on leadership roles and give all students a sense of belonging as they support their house.
Barbier -Blue House

Mother Mary
Over the next two weeks the statue of Mother Mary will be going around to each class. It is a visual reminder of the importance of prayer, especially the Rosary. The statue serves as a reminder for daily prayer and reflection. The idea of passing the statue of Mother Mary around is to foster a sense of school unity and shared faith and becomes a symbol of our shared spiritual journey.
Cross Country
This year, our whole school Cross Country event will take place on Wednesday, 7th May (Postponement date: Friday, 9th May) at Wakefield Park.
As we prepare for this exciting event, we kindly request your support in helping to marshal the race tracks. Parent volunteers are essential to ensuring the safety and smooth running of the event, and we would greatly appreciate any assistance you can provide. We will need support from 9.45am to 12.30pm. Please complete the Hero form to indicate your availability. Your involvement will make a significant difference in the success of the day.
