My name is Steve Tilki and I have been a science teacher for 25 years at Seymour Middle School. I am passionate about educating young minds and fostering a love for science in my students. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of students and have developed effective teaching strategies to meet their individual needs.
I hold a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Connecticut. I am constantly seeking professional development opportunities to stay updated with the latest advancements in the field of science education. This allows me to incorporate innovative teaching methods and technologies into my lessons, making them engaging and interactive for my students.
In my classroom, I strive to create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring scientific concepts. I believe in hands-on learning experiences and encourage my students to participate in experiments and projects that promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
In my spare time, I love to spend time with my family. My wife and I have an 11 year old daughter and 10 year old twin boys. We love spending time together outdoors playing various sports/recreational activities. Also, I enjoy playing the guitar and piano in a duo acoustic band.
