What have the students in Visual Arts class been creating lately?
The 2023 Turkey Artwork Beauty Pageant
Students had 1 Visual Arts class to create a mini artwork of a turkey, using the art media of their choice. Each turkey artwork would compete in the Turkey Artwork Beauty Pageant for the chance to earn the artist a little prize. Here are just some of the beautiful turkeys created!
Ink-Tober
Students in Visual Arts class just completed a month long drawing activity that you may not know, InkTober!
InkTober is a month-long art challenge created by artist Jake Parker that is focused on improving skill and developing positive drawing habits.
Each day is a new word prompt, so it is up to the artist to come up with an interesting idea to explore their own creativity!

Peace Poster Art Contest with the Lions Club
On November 8th our 2023 winners were chosen by the Lions Club, including our Grand Prize Winner! Congratulations!
All students at SMS are invited to participate in the art contest. Students that enter an artwork will earn credit in art class!
The art contest is now over for the 2023-2024 school year, but students at SMS can start to plan what they will make for their poster next year!
