I am one of the two school counselors at SMS and have had the pleasure of being a school counselor here for over 20 years. I have my Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology with a Minor in Psychology and a Master of Science degree in School Counseling from Southern Connecticut State University. I have my Sixth Year Certification in School Psychology from Fairfield University.
I support students with their academic, personal/social and career growth and collaborate with teachers, administrators and families on how best to support students' needs. I work with students individually, in small groups, and through developmental guidance classroom lessons. The counselors "loop" with the students through their three years at SMS, which allows me to get to know the students and their families.
When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I love reading, going to musicals/shows, traveling and my family loves going to Disney! I look forward to working together and please feel free to reach out anytime.
I received my Bachelor of Arts in English and my Master of Science in School Counseling from Southern Connecticut State University.
As a student advocate, I support children through individual and group counseling, as well as classroom lessons. I try to be very visible in the building and at school events to assist in building rapport with all students. I often meet with academic teams to support teachers and parents with a variety of school-based challenges that nearly all 6th, 7th and 8th grade students face.
I received my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Minored in Sociology and Criminal Justice at West Chester University. I received my MSW and 6th Year Certification with a focus on School Social Work from Southern Connecticut State University. I started working for Seymour Public Schools at the High School in 2005 and joined the SMS family in 2020.
I work with children, parents, teachers, and administrators to help all of our students succeed academically, behaviorally, socially, and emotionally. My role as a School Social Worker is to provide individual and small group counseling to help student increase their Social-Emotional skills in order to become more successful in the school setting. I conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments and help the Team create Behavior Intervention Plans and Safety Plans when necessary.
I also help families get connected with Community Agencies when support may be needed outside of school in the areas of counseling, financial instability, food, clothing, and other basic needs.
I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies at the University of Connecticut, and my Master of Science and Sixth Year Certification in School Psychology at Southern Connecticut State University. I work with children, parents, teachers, and administrators to help all of our students succeed academically, behaviorally, socially, and emotionally.
In my role as school psychologist, I see students individually or in small groups to help build their social-emotional skills and collaborate with teachers to implement strategies and interventions to help them be successful at school. I also conduct psychoeducational evaluations as part of the special education process in order to gather information on students’ strengths and weaknesses, and to assist in developing educational plans that will help them meet the demands of middle school.
