Test Re-Take Policy
Students are able to retake a test (not a quiz). It's important to note that not all assessments are retakeable. For example, if an assessment is given too close to the end of the marking period, it might not be possible for students to retake it.
1. Request Form: If your child wishes to retake a math assessment, they must complete the entire request form. This helps them reflect on what they need to improve and demonstrates their commitment to doing better.
2. Retake Score Calculation: The final score on the retake will be averaged with the original score. However, the maximum grade will be capped at 80%. This means that even if your child scores higher on the retake, the highest grade they can receive is 80%.
3. Correction with Teacher: Before the retake, students will have the opportunity to correct their original assessment with their teacher during WIN. This allows them to understand their mistakes and learn from them. They must meet with their teacher.
4. Completion of Assignments: To be eligible for a retake, students must ensure that all outstanding assignments for the unit are completed in PowerSchool. They must also complete a Review Assignment or Khan Academy Assignment before taking a re-take.
Without completion of these steps, your child will NOT be able to retake the assessment.
