Hello! My students call me "Mrs. G" and here's a little information about me, my education, family and experience teaching.
I am married to my wonderful husband Josh and have two rambunctious boys, Matteo (11), and Caleb (5). We also have a dog named Finn who is a Jack Russell. As a family we loved to be out in our backyard, spending time with friends and family and traveling to Maine.
I have my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from King's College in Wilkes-Barre, PA and my Master's Degree and 6th Year in Special Education from Fairfield University. I also have extensive training in ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) and have worked with individuals with special needs from preschool to elderly in group home and vocational settings.
I am currently in my 7th year of teaching in Seymour and my 5th year teaching at Seymour Middle School. I am incredibly lucky to be able to teach the population of students that I work with and am always searching for new ideas to bring into the classroom. Previously, I worked at Milestone's Behavioral Services as a special education teacher for 2 years, and worked at Sarah Noble Intermediate School as a paraprofessional for 4 years. I also worked at Ability Beyond for 9 years in various instructional and management positions.
I am extremely thankful and blessed to work with amazing staff, students and families at SMS!
